“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Does God Seem Like a Stranger?
We’re admonished to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. (Matthew 22:37) How many can say they feel that? John 2:5 tells us that ‘those who do what Christ tell them to will learn to love God more and more.’ It tells us if we live as Christ did, but how do we do that? How do we love God and live for him if we don’t understand who he is and how to get close to him? Have you ever seen God or have him speak to you?
He does speak to us but how many know how to hear his voice? When you first meet a new friend do you instantly love that friend with all your heart? Not really, right? Love comes as you get familiar with your friend by learning about who that person is and by spending time with him or her. When a doctor or nurse hands you your brand new son or daughter the love you feel at that moment in time is it the same love you feel three, four or five years later after you’ve grown to know and appreciate the personality of that precious individual? I would guess the more you see, hold and communicate with your child the greater your love increases. It’s the same with knowing God. If you want a close walk with the Lord, desiring to really know him and his love for you, I invite you to join me through short ten minute videos. See for yourself after only one encounter, if you connect with God and know him in a greater way than you did before. Easy; just go to the Video Page; choose a title and watch and listen. |
